Anonymous asked: Do you produce/engineer music for a living? How do you deal with not having a stable income? I'm an independent musician too, and sometimes I just can't help but think about getting a stable job before I continue to pursue music. Anyways, much love to you and what you've accomplished on your own bro :)
I’ve been doing music for a living for the past 10 years. Been producing professionally for about 4 years now and do have a stable income. Pay for a 3 bedroom house here in San Diego (not cheap) and work solely out of my studio that I built from the ground up with not much help from anyone else. I only do this. I think if ANYONE wants to MAKE A LIVING doing music (or anything else), they have to be all in with it. No 50/50 mindset. I gave up everything to make this my life and made it happen. Creating music and helping artists is how I pay for everything - my house, food, bills, fun stuff, gear.. etc. You just can’t get comfortable. I’m never comfortable. At the end of the day it is a business and it so happens to be my passion. Thanks for the love and keep pursuing your dream. If it’s just a hobby, have fun!
